Maêtre Gims was born on 6 May 1986 in Kinshasa, the capital and largest city of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), and his real name is Gandhi Jonah. He comes from a musical family, his father was the team’s lead singer Wemba1, and his rapper brother, a member of Sexion Assaut.
Maiter Gimes released his debut solo album (Solo) in 2013, which was a great commercial success. In 2013 he launched the new clothing brand (Vortex), shortly after the release of the J’me tire, and made his debut wearing a Vortex shirt. She’s on the throne of modern French music.
He was a Christian and converted to the Islamic faith. He was gathered by a personal friendship with Prince Badr Ibn al-Saudi and a young Egyptian engineer (Youssef al-Sai).
