Meriam George was born on May 30, 1987, in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. She won the title of Miss Egypt in 2005 at the age of eighteen. She represented Egypt in the Miss Universe competition in 2005, and in the Miss Continental pageant in 2005, reaching the semifinals. She also participated in Miss Earth 2006, where she was among the top eight finalists. In 2013, she competed in the Miss Asia Pacific World Super Talent in Seoul, South Korea, and was awarded the title of first runner-up. She was the first winner of the Grand Slam competitions since Miss World Antigone Costanda in 1954.
