Ehsan Hatem was born on January 5, 1986, in Alexandria, Northern Egypt, to an Egyptian father and an American mother. She won the title of Miss Egypt in 2007 at the age of 21. The judging panel included several artists, most notably Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakherji. The event took place in the Media Production City near Sixth of October City in Egypt, surrounded by crowds of fans awaiting the results. The artist Tamer Hosny was among the guests at the event. She represented Egypt in the Miss Universe competition in 2007.
