Lara Debbana was born on November 28, 1994, in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. She studied at Wahat International School and is fluent in Arabic, French, English, and Italian. Lara was actively involved in school theater productions. She won the title of Miss Egypt in 2014 in Sharm El Sheikh, making her the first winner of the contest after its hiatus following the January 25 Revolution in 2011. Notably, she claimed the crown 28 years after her aunt, Hoda Aboud, won the same title in 1987. Lara represented Egypt at the Miss Universe pageant in 2014 and also participated in the Miss World contest in 2015 in China but had to withdraw due to visa issues that prevented her entry into China.
