Biography, Life story

Ninushka Manoj Kobalyan, known professionally as Lebleba, was born on November 14, 1945, in Cairo, the capital of Egypt, to an Armenian family of Syrian descent from Aleppo. She began her artistic journey at a young age, imitating artists. She was discovered for the national theater by concert promoter (Al-Ma’allim Sidiq), and later the writer Abu Saud Al-Ibiary introduced her to cinema through her debut in the film “Habibti Sousou.” Abu Saud Al-Ibiary was also responsible for giving her the stage name “Lebleba.” As she grew older, she performed in variety roles and comedic parts alongside the Egyptian actor Adel Imam. Director Atef El-Tayeb rediscovered her in the films “Against the Government” in 1992 and “A Hot Night” in 1996, for which she received numerous awards. In recent years, she has taken on maternal roles and returned to significant roles with Adel Imam in his successful Ramadan series, including “Sahib Al-Saada” in Ramadan 2014 and “Mamoun & Co.” in Ramadan 2016.

Lebleba married the actor Hassan Youssef in 1969, but their marriage did not last long, and she devoted herself to her art.
