Najwa Karam was born on February 26, 1966 in the district of Zahle, Lebanon, to a Maronite family. She began her life as a teacher and started singing in the eighties. In 1985, she participated in the “Lebanon Nights” program and won the gold medal. In 1989, she released her first album, “Ya Habayeb.” Her second album, “Shams El Ghanya”, which was released in 1992, was a great success. In the following years, she released several more albums, one per year.
She was distinguished by her strong mountainous voice, and she is considered a first-class popular singer. It is reported that she sang only in the Lebanese dialect, which distinguished her from the rest of the Lebanese artists. She was also famous for singing mawwal of all kinds, in addition to patriotic songs. During the song We Grow Up, which was about a duet, he talks about a dialogue that takes place between the daughter and the father, and it made a noise, and this was in 2003.
The Lebanese journalist, George Ibrahim El-Khoury, called her the sun of the Arabic song, and there are many other titles that were given to her, as she was called the Queen of Admonition, the Magna, the Loyalty of Lebanon, and the Loyalty. Finally, the musician Melhem Barakat called her the affectionate, in addition to an adjective described by composers, and she is the bearer of the banner of the Lebanese song.
