Alycia Debnam-Carey was born on July 20, 1993, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She attended Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, graduating in 2011.

Alycia began acting at the age of 8. In 2003, she appeared in the successful short film “Martha’s New Coat,” directed by Rachel Ward, and guest-starred in the Australian drama series “McLeod’s Daughters.” In 2008, she featured in the TV movie “Dream Life,” as well as short films like “At the Tattooist” and “The Branch.” She moved to the United States at 18, participating in the documentary series “Next Stop Hollywood,” which followed six Australian actors seeking roles in American shows, accompanied by her mother, a television writer.

Alycia gained recognition for her role as Lexa in six episodes of “The 100,” which aired on The CW in 2014.
