She is the sister of Malaika Arora and a close friend of Kareena Kapoor. She is known to be a regular member at Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s residence.
She worked in notable Bollywood films, making her debut in “Kitne Door Kitne Paas” (2002) alongside Fardeen Khan, which did not perform well at the box office. This was followed by her first successful film, “Awara Paagal Deewana,” in the same year. However, she faced a series of failures, including the controversial film “Girlfriend” (2004), which dealt with lesbian relationships and featured Eesha Koppikhar. Amrita appeared with her sister on the talk show “Koffee with Karan,” hosted by Karan Johar. Her film “Red: The Dark Side” (2007), starring Aftab Shivdasani and Sienna Gilroy, sparked significant controversy due to a 27-minute sexual scene, leading to mixed box office results. She also starred in “Kambakkht Ishq” (2009), produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, but has since stepped away from the limelight following her marriage in 2009, with her last film being “Ek Tho Chance.”
Amrita Arora has been romantically linked to Kevin Outer, Ashmit Patel, and Upen Patel, and she was also briefly involved with British-Pakistani cricketer Usman Afzaal. Her marriage to Shakeel Ladak, a Muslim, was conducted according to Christian traditions in 2009. Her father is Hindu, her mother is a South Indian Christian, and her husband is Muslim.
