Chloë Grace Moretz was born on February 10, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. She grew up in a conservative Christian family; her father is a plastic surgeon and her mother is a nurse in a public hospital. She has four older brothers: Brandon, Trevor, Colin, and Ethan. In 2002, Chloë moved from Cartersville, Georgia, to New York with her mother and older brother Trevor, who was accepted into a performing arts school, sparking her interest in acting. She would help her brother read scripts and learned some acting techniques from him. Realizing her enjoyment of acting activities, her family allowed her to audition to see if she could apply her acting skills professionally. She began her artistic career at the age of seven and won several young actor awards. She has appeared in numerous successful films. Her brother Trevor serves as her acting coach and accompanies her on her travels and media engagements.
