Biography, Life story
Farid Ghannam was born on the 5th of March in Morocco. He belongs to the youth singing group “Mayara Band”, the winner of one of the sessions of the “Mawazine Generation” competition. The Arab audience knew him after his participation in the “The Voice – The Sweetest Voice” program on the “MBC” satellite channel, where the Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel Wahab called him “Strawberry.” Before the program, his friends called him “Fred Mayara”. He loved music since he was six years old, despite the difficult family circumstances he went through, after his parents separated and left him with his grandmother. After becoming a young man and forced to live on the Moroccan streets for three years, Farid decided to form a band instead of deviating, and called it “Mayara Band”.
His idol in art is the American jazz singer Al Jarreau. He is also a lover of Cheb Khaled, and he sang for him about two songs on “The Voice” on the program. Farid Ghannam, whose songs have achieved millions of views on YouTube, is considered one of the closest contestants to Sherine, who asked him at the beginning of the program to join her team, to cry together because he has a high sense of it like her.
Farid Ghannam married one of his fans, Rabab Azmani, who posted on her personal page on a social networking site, a photo of Ghannam two years ago, and commented: “My first picture with Strawberry, as one of his fans.”
