Biography, Life story
Haifa Wehbe was born on March 10, 1976 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and grew up there, to a Shiite Muslim family of a Lebanese father and an Egyptian mother residing in Lebanon. She was not created with a golden spoon in her mouth. Rather, she lived through hardships, and her life or childhood was not like the rest of the children. She grew up and was raised with her mother in a less than ordinary apartment in Beirut, close to Sana’a, with a large number of her family members. She also suffered, like most of the Lebanese people, from the brunt of the war. sectarianism in Lebanon.
She tried in various ways to get rid of poverty, she never aspired to stardom. She worked as an ordinary seller in a gold jewelry store, then participated in the Miss South contest and won the title of Queen, but the prize was withdrawn from her because the organizers discovered that she had a daughter from a previous marriage. She worked as a model in Nidal Basharawy Agency at the age of 16, a field that also helped her to get acquainted with a large number of producers and important people. She was also an advertisement girl, where in 1992 she acted in the advertisement “Macarona Dana” on the Syrian Arab TV screen, and after that she worked as a model for a video clip in the song “Satisfy with the share” by the artist George Wassouf, and in the song “Yamima” by the artist Assi Al-Hillani.
Her song “Boss Al Wawa” sparked widespread controversy, as it was a seductive show song, and she gained great fame. She participated in the “Al-Wadi Program” in 2005 on LBC, which is based on the reality TV style, and through it she presented a number of lyrical reviews and songs related to the atmosphere of the program. The famous Jamaican singer, Shaggy, participated in a concert in 2006 in Beirut.
