Heidi Karam was born on August 27, 1980 in the Shubra neighborhood of Cairo, the capital of Egypt, and lived there for 7 years. Her grandmother named her “Heidi” because she loved the international artist Hedy Lamarr. She obtained a BA from the French Language Department at the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University. She started her artistic path by working as a model in television commercials and continued to present them for two years, then she worked as a broadcaster for a short period, in the (ART) network and (MBC) channel for a short time, and during that she graduated from the Faculty of Commerce, Ain Shams University, then entered the field of acting through the series ( Marina Marina) and it was not shown, while her real start was through her role in the series (The Nightingale), through which she was able to prove that she possesses a real artistic talent and achieve remarkable success that drew the attention of the directors, to launch after that in a number of cinematic and television works.
In 2015, Heidi Karam participated in presenting and animating the program (Nafsna) on (Cairo and the People) channel, with actress Intisar, actress Badria Tolba, actress Shaima Seif, and presenter Habiba Bassiouni. The program has sparked a lot of controversy due to the boldness of the topics it deals with.
Heidi Karam got married at a young age when she was still 19 years old, which prompted her to divorce after a marriage that lasted about 10 years without giving reasons for that, so she filed a divorce suit against the father of her only son (Nadim).
