Biography, Life story
Jad Shwery was born on the 13th of March 1980 in Lebanon. He has 3 siblings: Ralph (producer), Tania (stylist clips), and Ingrid (assistant director). He currently resides in Ashrafieh – Beirut – Lebanon. When Jad was a child, he loved singing to the American singer Madonna, who was his true inspiration, and at the age of ten, his family left Lebanon after the war. His parents desperately wanted him to study medicine or political science, in order to preserve the image of his grandfather, who was a political founder. After receiving his baccalaureate in French literature in 1997, he insisted on studying at L’Ecole de Réalisation Audiovisuelle, and left Lebanon for two years to study at the Sorbonne University in Paris, where he obtained high marks in Performing Arts in Film Studies. During his stay in France, Jad was active on stage, and he also participated in a Canadian movie entitled (Trainée de Bruit). During his summer vacation in Beirut in 2001, Jad joined the Studio El Fan program, and won the first prize as the best video clip director for the song Ya Mustafa, which is one of the old folklore songs, which was sung again by the Lebanese singer Rida Boutros. But Gad’s real ambition was to stand in front of the cameras, not behind them, to produce the works of other artists.
Jad Shwery appeared on music channels in 2003 in his first song (I tell you what?) for which he filmed a video clip, and he sang and danced to the melodies of his song, which included Arabic and English lyrics. In 2006, Jad released his first album (The Key). In this album, he collected all the singles he released between 2003 and 2006. Some Arab newspapers described him as the most controversial artist in the world of music, especially after he quickly established his artistic personality as a singer who sings and directs his own clips.
Jad Shwery directed more than 60 clips for him and other artists such as: Nicole Saba, Nisreen Gebran and Amr Mostafa, from him and Nahla. And he was behind the fame of many exciting female artists, such as the Lebanese singer Maria, who presented her first song, “I Play” in 2004, directed by Jad, and Tina as well. Jad and those who work with him make sexual waves in their clips, spreading at lightning speed on Arab music channels. And while he was famous for these works that focus on sex, in terms of excitement and sexy sexual movements, he was able to win the respect of critics after he directed a video for the Lebanese singer Joanna Mallah in 2006. He also presented the song Warini with the singer Malak Al-Nasser, and he also collaborated with the Lebanese singer Iwan in Song nor in dreams.
Jad Shwery announced that his sexual life is much better than his emotional life, and it seems that this part of his life is an incentive for him to present exciting clips that people described as unacceptable in the eastern Arab community.
