Marisa Tomei was born on December 4, 1964, in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City, where she spent most of her life. Her mother, Patricia Adie, is an English professor, and her father, Gary Tomei, is a lawyer. She has a younger brother named Adam. She became one of the stars of Broadway theater. In 1982, she attended Boston University for one year before transferring to New York University. She entered the acting field with her role in the film “The Flamingo Kid” in 1987, and after a few minor roles, she rose to prominence in 1992 with the comedy series “My Cousin Vinny,” for which she won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
