Selen Soyder was born on December 26, 1986, in the town of Alsancak, in Izmir, Turkey. She is the only child of parents who migrated to the town of Yanya. She completed her primary, middle, and high school education at Selma Yiğitalp High School in Izmir.

Mükerrem Selen Soyder participated in the Miss Turkey competition and was chosen as the best model in Turkey in 2006. She represented Turkey in the Miss Universe pageant held in China, placing in the top five and winning the Best National Costume award. She then competed in the Miss Turkey contest and was crowned Miss Turkey in 2007. She represented Turkey in the Miss World competition held on Sanya Island in China among 106 countries, but she did not place in the top five. In 2007, she became a model for Vakko. Afterward, she traveled to Canada to study the Canadian language and returned to Turkey in 2009. Following her father’s request, she registered with a radio station and began training at Star TV. In 2010, she starred in the TV series “Love Between Heaven and Earth,” which aired on Fox TV. Selen made her debut in Turkish drama history by playing the role of Toprak in the series “Lale Devri” (The Tulip Era). In 2013, she won the Star of the Year Award at the 19th Political Magazine Awards and the Best Actress Award at the 4th Golden Lens Awards for her role.
