Songul Oden was born on February 17, 1979, in Diyarbakir, southeastern Turkey, into a wealthy family. She spent her early years in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. She graduated from Hacettepe University’s Theatre Academy. Her acting career began in 1993 by chance when, during her training period at the Art Theater, she was offered a lead role in the play (Trabzon Devlet Tiyatrosu). She also played a key role in one of the plays at Diyarbakir National Theatre, which became one of the most popular Turkish plays for three years.
In 2005, she made her television debut starring in the drama series (Noor) alongside Kivanç Tatlituğ, which gained her fame in the Arab world. However, she continued to work in theater, with recent performances in plays like (Kadinciklar).
In 2018, she was honored at the Murex D’or Awards ceremony held in Lebanon. During her acceptance speech, she thanked Syrian actress Laura Abu Asaad for dubbing her voice in the series (Noor).
