Reese Witherspoon was born on March 22, 1976 in New Orleans, Louisiana, in the United States. Her father is an ear and nose surgeon and a former lieutenant colonel in the military, while her mother, Betty, has a doctorate in nursing and is a professor at Vanderbilt University. The Witherspoon family traces its origins back over 200 years to the United States and is the descendant of John Witherspoon, the person who signed the United States’ Declaration of Independence, and the founder of Princeton University.<\/p>\n

Reese Witherspoon spent the first four years of her life in Wiesbaden, Germany, where her father was serving as a lieutenant colonel in the US Army Reserve, after that the family returned to Nashville, since the family had a love for science, so it was planned that Reese would become a doctor, and she admits that she was a \u201clove of books.\u201d idiots.\u201d She got excellent grades, she says.<\/p>\n
