Alia Bhatt was born on March 15, 1993, in Mumbai, India. Her father, Indian director Mahesh Bhatt, is of Gujarati descent, while her mother, actress Soni Razdan, is from Kashmir and has German roots. She has an older sister named Shaheen, born in 1988, and two half-siblings, Pooja Bhatt and Rahul Bhatt. Alia received her education at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai.<\/p>\n
Alia began her artistic career in Bollywood films in 2012, although her first appearance was as a young girl (Preeti) in the film Sangharsh in 1999, starring Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta.
